Strategic Communication Choice, Organizational Culture, and Change Management


Master teacher Dr. John Ludlum, Professor of Communication and Leadership Studies at Otterbein University will lead an interactive discussion on how to overcome key barriers to organizational change efforts.  Together we will explore drivers of change and strategies for facilitating successful change efforts in organizations.  Dr. Ludlum will review several tested models of strategic communication, change and culture including Lewin's "Force Field Analysis" and Schein's models of culture and cultural change. 

The session is designed to:
  • Introduce a useful model of strategic communication choice
  • Advance understanding of several models of change and culture
  • Expand repertoires of change management strategies and techniques to build these repertoires and
  • Apply these models and repertoires to both downward and upward change management

Dr. John Ludlum is Professor of Communication and Leadership Studies at Otterbein Unviersity.  He teaches courses in Organizational Communication, Interpersonal Communication, and Leadership, as well as courses in Otterbein Freshman Year Seminar and Senior Year Experience programs.  He currently serves as acting Director of the Leadership Studies program.  Dr. Ludlum has led multiple change-management initiatives at Otterbein, including the development of the Leadership Studies minor, and has recently assisted in Otterbein's conversion to a Semester Calendar.  In 2010, he was the recipient of Otterbein's "Master Teacher of the Year" award.

Cancellation/No Show Policy:
The majority of our registration fee goes toward the cost of the meal provided.  If you must cancel, please email peggy@ultimateassist.com before 12 noon the day before the event.  Cancellations after noon the day before the event and no-shows will be invoiced the full amount.  Substitutions are preferred.
