GE, Accenture, Deloitte and many other marketplace leaders are abandoning the traditional annual performance appraisal approach in which employees working with their managers set goals for the year; employees are rated and ranked numerically; and salary, bonus, and promotion opportunities are awarded accordingly. Few in the OD and HR community will mourn the passing of this system. But what will replace it?

Our facilitators have researched where some of the market leaders are heading, and promise to stimulate your thinking about next generation performance support and employee feedback systems. Tom Rausch and Susan Alexander are both active members of the central Ohio OD and coaching communities, and have experience in helping organizations bring new approaches to performance achievement and career development. Their goal for this session is to get us all to share our best thinking about what we can do as professionals to ensure something better replaces the traditional broken system of performance management that has come into such seemingly sudden disfavor.
